Protected areas of Indonesia
Protected areas of Indonesia comprise both terrestrial and marine environments in any of the six IUCN Protected Area categories. There are over 470 protected areas in Indonesia, of which 50 are designated as national parks. The total protected land area comprises 300,000 km² representing 15.7% of Indonesia's landmass. Marine Protected Areas comprise 60,000 km² representing 1.8% of territorial waters.[1]
